Valle Lindo

The air we are breathing is filled with ashes from the Palisades Fire, which shows no signs of being contained as of January 8th, 2025. The current Air Quality Index (AQI) indicates pollution levels that make the air unsafe to breathe. Winds are carrying ashes from Los Angeles County into our area, posing serious health risks. Breathing in ash can cause respiratory irritation and may increase the risk of cancer, which we wouldn't want students and faculty alike to be exposed too. Making it especially dangerous for Lakewood, Cerritos, Hawaiian Gardens, and Artesia residents and students with asthma. Despite warnings of hazardous air quality, ABCUSD still continues to ignore local safety alerts sent to our mobile devices.

This CLEARLY shows a disregard for student safety,

which has been evident over the past several days.

Please help us make a change.
