On June 5th, 2020, Temple University released a statement via their official Twitter account that the institution respects the, "first amendment rights of all" and that "hateful speech" is included in that respect even though it is, "antithetical to the university's mission." We are calling on Temple University to adhere to their supposed "mission" by altering their official Code of Conduct to include condemnation and immediate expulsion of students who create unsafe conditions through the use and spread of hate, bigotry, violence, and racism.

Temple University cannot utilize the diversity of their student body and the location of their institution to create a facade of acceptance and racial equity, they must act accordingly. In this way, Temple University must ensure that any individual in the Temple community does not share, hold, and/or promote hateful views. We call on any member of the Temple community to stand with our mission and to share and sign this petition. We will not allow hate to have a home at Temple University.
