Temple and Webster: Stop selling fur

As Australia's leading online retailer for furniture and homewares - Temple and Webster are selling fur products, including rabbit fur throws and pillows, despite so many other fabric and textile options being available. The fur industry is well documented as a cruel industry with many atrocities against those animals whose skins are stripped from them, all for the sake of a pillow or rug.
As Temple and Webster has enjoyed a huge boom in sales due to so many of us being cooped up at home during COVID, surely they can afford to use their power for good and start making more ethical choices in the products they offer. Seeing as they offer "over 180,000 products", we ask that they discontinue products that include the use of rabbit fur, as they have so many other avenues of profit.
Temple and Webster's acknowledgement on product pages that include the use of fur.
"We acknowledge that animal based or derived products are not for everyone. Typically, such products are sourced as by-products of the food production industry. Our trading terms with our suppliers require that all products meet or exceed strict Australian Government safety, testing, certification & import standards."
Despite this assurance from Temple and Webster, by stocking and promoting these products, they risk increasing popularity of these products that will only drive demand, and not all buyers and suppliers will be discerning in their sourcing. We also note that the use of the word "typically" in the above acknowledgement suggests that they are unable to guarantee that fur does not come from fur farms, either overseas or domestic. Traditional methods of fur farming are absolutely horrendous for the animals involved, as most of us know.
Many parts of the world have woken up to the cruelty involved in the fur trade and are taking measures to shift society away from such The City of Sydney Council and Canterbury council have recently passed motions banning the sales of fur on council property. We need to make sure online retailers, who are enjoying profits from our own wallets, are also held accountable and understand that fashion is NOT worth the suffering of others.
