Just a quick update, thanks to everyone for signing. There has been a lot of discussion in the Facebook groups, including from our city councillor Ryan Boehme. I encourage you to keep people signing here as well as taking other steps like filing a complaint with the CRTC. The only way we're going to see action is if we irritate enough people into doing something.
I had a meeting with the Queen's University Bell account reps the other day about campus business. At the end I mentioned the frustrations on the east side. Neither of them were aware of any steps being taken to improve the infrastructure - but then, Bell is so huge it's quite possible they wouldn't know even if something IS happening.
Secondly, I found out that Bell and Telus have an arrangement about building towers - essentially one of them takes on a geographic area and builds towers that they both use. Bell is definitely responsible for Kingston. So any Bell/Telus improvements will be made by Bell if you want to focus your email-writing campaign.
Oh, and the Bell rep suggested that in tne meantime we buy a WeBoost signal booster, which strikes me as an expensive addition to an already expensive monthly plan.
