Tell Walgreens to Stop Putting Prescriptions in Plastic Bags
Tell Walgreens to Stop Putting Prescriptions in Plastic Bags
The Issue
Walgreens places prescriptions in plastic zip-top bags. An alternative must be made available.
While plastic takes up less space in landfills and is lighter (and therefore requires less energy) to transport, bags do not always make it to landfills. Instead, they:
pose a threat to marine life;
are a choking hazard;
can clog sewer pipes, leading to standing water.
Walgreens should provide an alternative for those who do not want plastic. This could be managed using their prescription refill phone service.
Tell Walgreens to stop or provide an alternative to putting prescriptions in plastic bags.
