Tonight and for the next 7 days we will be in a warm and safe space, that we have started to think of as home. Today in court the Midcounties Coop delayed trying to get us evicted for a week. That would not have happened without your support. Special thanks to all of you who took the time to contact the Coop yesterday and came down to support us in court today. This is only the start. So far we have helped people avoid spending over 100 nights on the streets. With Arctic conditions on our door step, hundreds still sleeping rough and a long winter ahead, we can do more. In good faith we've just granted access to the Coop to the building to prove we have closed access to dangerous areas of the building – especially those parts with asbestos. This has been one of their main reasons for wanting us out and we are hopeful that this will help us to remain even longer. Next we want to get all of the fire extinguishers rechecked, install a laundry and open more space for new residence. Due to legal concerns they are unwilling to open them.
