Petition Closed

On April 21, 2012 I attended the UniversSoul Circus with my job although I am an avid animal lover. I decided to make this into a positive experience and create a petition to end this abuse.
UniverSoul Circus utilizes animals in some of their performances when this is completely unnecessary. African elephants, tigers, zebras, llamas, horses, and ponies are used in their circus when they should not be housed in small cages, toured throughout states, and experiencing bright lights and loud music and sounds. All animals are intelligent in their own way and should not be employed by humans for the entertainment of humans. The UniverSoul Circus would be an excellent circus without employing animals and solely employing humans.

Stop using animals in UniverSoul Circus

UniverSoul Circus utilizes animals in some of their performances when this is completely unnecessary. African elephants, tigers, zebras, llamas, horses, and ponies are used in their circus when they should not be housed in small cages, toured throughout states, experiencing bright lights and loud music and sounds, and being whipped, poked, and prodded all in the name of entertainment. All animals are intelligent in their own way and should not be employed by humans for the entertainment of humans. Animals experience many of the same basic emotions as humans and can endure pain and suffering. Although the sights and sounds of a circus may be fun and exciting for people, this is not the case for wild animals who would not normally experience loud music, people screaming, theatrical lighting, and strange smells. The UniverSoul Circus would be an excellent circus without employing animals and solely employing humans with their great acrobatics and contortionists.

Here is a list of what I witnessed:
-Zebra ran so fast out of the circus ring that the zebra tripped over the wall and almost fell
-Camels, llamas, zebras, and ponies being whipped and appeared fearful as they ran in circles in the ring with each other
-Elephants have seismographic hearing which means they can hear sounds through pads in their feet and throughout their bones. While the elephant is in the ring for family photos, there is loud music with excessive bass
-During the tiger act, the tigers were hit in the face with the handle of the person's whip
-During the tiger act, the tigers were whipped to have them stand up from their laying down position
-Tigers were transported in small cages both to and from the circus ring. One cage had 3 tigers in it which was not sufficient space for them to easily turn around.
-During the elephant act, loud music with excessive bass was playing
-The elephants were made to twirl their bodies with one foot on a small twirling stand, which is not a natural movement
-One elephant was made to crawl under another elephant that had the 2 front feet one one pedestal and the 2 back feet on another pedestal, both unnatural postures and movements

UniverSoul Circus can continue providing family-based entertainment by simply only using human entertainers and no longer using animals in it's circus.
