Hello everyone!
Thank you for signing the petition to Stop Project Blue! We are inspired by the growing number of Tucsonans actively joining the opposition to this project. There is much to do, and success in this fight truly is possible. We are a strong community when we come together, united by our shared values of protecting desert water, land, and the people who live here.
We need all of our voices as we get nearer to the City Council vote in August. The mayor and most councilmembers are still deciding how they’ll vote – this is a perfect time for them to hear from all of us on why they should oppose Project Blue. Here is what you can do right now --
Attend the following meetings:
- Ward 4 Project Blue Community Information Meeting with Nikki Lee
July 23rd (TODAY!) 5-7pm at Mica Mountain High School - Midtown Project Blue Community Information Meeting
July 31st time TBA at Catalina High School - Mayor & Council Study Session – We’re going to pack the room!
August 6th time TBA (NOTE: Date Change). Study Sessions begin at 2pm, and we will find out soon what time the agenda item will be discussed. Call to the Audience begins at 5:30, doors at 5pm -- fill out a speaker card and address the council! Attend both the Study Session and Call to the Audience if you are able!
- City Council Meeting
August 19th at 5pm
This is the initial vote to explore annexation
Speak at Call to the Audience and bring family, friends, and neighbors to pack the chambers!
Fill out the Get Involved Form. This is the best way for us to all remain up-to-date, connected, and actively participate in stopping Project Blue as a community. Send this form to anyone you know in Tucson who opposes this proposed project.
Write to the Mayor and Councilmembers. Voice your concerns and urge them to vote no on annexing the land for Project Blue. (Kevin Dahl, Ward 3; Karin Uhlich, Ward 6; and Paul Cunningham, Ward 2 have publicly stated they are “no’s” – write a letter thanking them!).
Write a Letter to the Editor. Anyone can do this! We want to flood local outlets with letters to the editor to let readers know what is happening, why we must stop Project Blue, and to show Tucson that the community is standing strong to protect our water, energy, and environment. Write to the Daily Star here.
Remember, we have a real chance at stopping this data center and protecting our water, land, and community. Your participation will make a difference. Thank you for joining in the effort!
