Tell Trump: You Promised to Fix America — Not Run Other Countries
The Issue
In 2016, Donald Trump won over millions of Americans by promising to end foreign wars, put America first, and stop wasting money trying to police the world.
But now, in his second term, that promise is unraveling.
Over the past week, Trump has:
- Launched a major military operation in Venezuela
- Claimed the U.S. will “run” Venezuela and take over its oil fields
- Threatened military action against Colombia and Cuba
- Renewed calls to take Greenland from Denmark.
The message is clear: this administration wants to dominate the Western Hemisphere. But that’s not what voters asked for.
Polling shows only 26% of Americans — and just 43% of Republicans — support this kind of expansionist foreign policy. Most Republicans say they’re more worried about the cost, the risk to U.S. troops, and getting bogged down in another endless mission.
Meanwhile, Americans are still waiting on real solutions to inflation, immigration, energy prices, and border security — the issues Trump once made central to his campaign.
This isn’t what “America First” looks like. It looks like empire building.
We’re calling on President Trump to keep his promise: focus on fixing this country before trying to run someone else’s. No more military takeovers. No more foreign oil grabs. No more land deals or vague promises about global dominance.
Conservatives don’t want another Iraq. Libertarians don’t want another Libya. And taxpayers don’t want to fund the fantasy of a U.S.-controlled hemisphere.
Sign this petition if you believe America’s leaders should focus on solving problems here at home — not trying to control other countries abroad.
