There's a Rhode Island statute (31-19.3) regulating mopeds which gives Block Island a very limited amount of room to regulate moped operations.

The present agreement between the Town and the moped operators that ends on July 31, 2022 prevents the Town from asking the RI legislature to modify this statue.

For greater public safety on our beautiful island roads, urge our Town Council to lobby the RI state legislature to amend the moped statute so Town has more elbow room to regulate mopeds for the public good.
