Department of Justice: Bring federal hate crime charges against our father’s assailant
Fellow Americans –
On Tuesday, September 8, 2015, our father, Inderjit Singh Mukker, was viciously assaulted after the assailant pulled up to his car yelling racial slurs, including, "Terrorist, go back to your country, Bin Laden!"
He was on the way to our local grocery store.
At the hospital, while still in a severe amount of pain, he provided a statement and said, “No American should be afraid to practice their faith in our country.”
However the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office is sending another message by NOT charging the assailant with a hate crime. Despite being punched repeatedly through a car window after being called racial slurs, we are now being told that this is not a hate crime, but a case of road rage.
We need your help.
Tell the U.S. Department of Justice to bring federal hate crime charges against our father’s assailant immediately.
By adding your name to this petition you are telling the world that America stands together to #takeonhate.
