Thank you so much for voicing your opposition to The New York Times' decision to hire the climate denier Bret Stephens to its editorial page! Simply by circulating this petition this past week on Twitter and in my personal networks, I've gathered 22,000 supporters (!) who say NO to this stupid and irresponsible move. And I'm excited to say that Change.org has noticed us and decided to promote our campaign! And on Saturday we will reach out to the tens of thousands of people marching in the People's Climate Mobilization for a safe, prosperous, and sustainable future. Our power is growing by the day! AND NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP! In an article published on the 22nd, the New York Times Public Editor, Liz Spayd, said that "relatively few" people have complained to the Times about Stephens' hire. Well, let's just say she hasn't heard from us yet! LET'S MAKE OUR VOICES LOUD AND CLEAR! When we approach the Times with our petition, with the momentum of the People's Climate Mobilization at our backs, we will show them that we are not a “few” people, but a movement – a movement calling not for “alternative facts,” but for truth. We *will* prevent The New York Times from amplifying fossil-fuel messaging! We understand that human-caused climate change is not a political opinion, but a scientific truth. And we know that if humans are causing climate change, we can stop it too -- by developing and consuming clean energy instead of destructive fossil fuels! So let's do this thing!! Let's do it for ourselves, for our children, and for the world! PLEASE EMAIL THIS PETITION TO YOUR FRIENDS, SHARE IT AGAIN ON FACEBOOK, AND TWEET IT OUT YET ONCE MORE!
