In a massive boost for the Save Toondah campaign, Redlanders have the opportunity in March to vote out Councillors and Mayor Williams who support Walker's 3600 unit development and replace them with passionate, independent representatives who care about being open and keeping Redlands special!

Instead of Mayor Williams, who signed Redlanders up to a confidential deal with Jacqui Trad (then State Development Minister) and Walker without proper community consultation, you can have Claire for Mayor and two new anti-Toondah candidates who care!

Thank you Cal J Sorensen Karklis (Division 2 candidate) and Adelia Berridge (Division 9 candidate) for having the courage of your convictions and standing up for Toondah, your community and environment!

Cal is campaigning for no more high rises in the Bay, rebuilding Cleveland and working with the state government to duplicate the Cleveland train line.

Redlands koala champion, Adelia Berridge will fight to stop the Toondah development and for a better balance between development and the environment.

"All I'm hearing now is people have simply had enough. Enough of the traffic and lack of car parks. Enough of the developments that poorly relate with our environment and health. Enough of the high-priced council rates and enough of the loss of koalas."

Thank you too to Claire Richardson for committing to reviewing ways to bring any development out of the RAMSAR wetland and back on land!

She said she backed the redevelopment of Toondah Harbour and the provision of commercial and tourist facilities.

'However, I have serious reservations about the proposed reclamation of land in Moreton Bay to allow for the construction of multiple 10-storey buildings to house 3600 individual apartments," she said.

"I will draw on my expertise in the planning and environmental fields to seek a solution to this project that meets community expectations."

I would also like to see Councillor Wendy Boglary (Division 1) re-elected.

Looking at the election results from 2016 and with the tide of public opinion turning overwhelmingly against the Toondah development, there is every chance people power will win in March.

Victory in March would place enormous pressure on Unless the Palaszczuk Government to revokes the Toondah Harbour Priority Development (Destruction) Area over the Toondah Ramsar wetlands and withdraws its support for this development.

Thank you and good luck !
