Great news to see Toondah in the spotlight as part of the Australian Conservation Foundation’s people-powered nature campaign to stop extinctions.
I asked the ACF about what focus they are placing on Toondah at the workshop and they replied:
'Part of the workshop will definitely be about how we can use people power to stop the proposed Toondah Harbour development that threatens critical habitat in the Ramsar listed wetland. The workshop will also test how we might best communicate the story of the threat to this wetland, and our wildlife and their habitat are facing nationally, to the widest possible audience.
This local campaign to protect the wetland at Toondah Harbour is absolutely a key part of our wider national campaign to protect nature and end extinction. In fact we want to trial and prototype tactics at Toondah that we can roll out more widely across Australia.'
Please come join the ACF, Save Moreton Bay, Toondah friends and other Toondah family 6-8pm on Wed October 16, 2019 at Binary Music (Shop 11, 48 Bloomfield St, Cleveland)
Thanks for your contribution to the people power movement that is turning the tide against losing this precious RAMSAR wetland. Your support will help the fight to save Toondah’s critically endangered Eastern Curlew and vulnerable koala populations.
Have a lovely day :))
