Tell Tarrant County to Prioritize Community Safety

Tell Tarrant County to Prioritize Community Safety
The Issue
Dear Supporters,
We, the members of Physicians for Humanity, are deeply concerned about a recent case in Tarrant County, Texas, involving Elizabeth Wolf, who has been charged with attempting to drown a three-year-old child in Euless, Texas. This individual also threatened to kill the child’s family, raising significant safety concerns.
Why This Matters:
- Elizabeth Wolf has been granted bail at only $25,000 despite being charged with such a serious crime.
- This amount is insufficient given the severity of the charges and the potential threat to the community.
- Comparatively, a bail amount this low does not reflect the gravity of a capital murder charge.
- For instance:In 2022, Hector Gonzales was charged with attempted capital murder in Tarrant County and his bail was set at $1,000,000.
- In 2016, Kendrex J. White, a University of Texas at Arlington student, was charged with attempted capital murder and his bail was set at $500,000, as reported by The Shorthorn.
Our Goals:
- Advocate for the reconsideration of the bail amount set for this case to ensure it adequately reflects the severity of the crime.
- Promote community safety by ensuring that individuals charged with serious crimes are not easily able to secure release on bail.
- Call for a review of bail policies in Texas to prevent similar situations in the future.
How You Can Help:
- By signing this petition, you will join a community dedicated to ensuring justice and protecting our communities.
Your support will:
- Encourage the Tarrant County prosecutor's office to review and potentially increase the bail amount for Elizabeth Wolf.
- Raise awareness about the need for stricter bail conditions in serious criminal cases.
- Contribute to a safer community by preventing potentially dangerous individuals from being released on insufficient bail.
Call to Action:
We urge you to add your voice to this crucial cause. Together, we can advocate for change and ensure that our justice system prioritizes community safety. Please sign and share this petition to amplify our message and bring about real, lasting change.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Physicians for Humanity
