Tell Southeast Delco school board our children, teachers and community deserve better!
The Issue
UPDATE: The vote for the contract will take place on Thursday, January 26th @7pm. We need your help. Please share this petition with as many people in the Southeast Delco district as possible. Please help us get to 1,000 signatures. We also need you to come to ESC on Thursday to voice your opinions about 5 more years of underperformance and a lack of attention to the safety and education for our children. The meeting is at 7pm.
Southeast Delco School District is a community in crisis. For the past two years our children have been in a state of unrest and confusion. Violence is growing in our schools. Our teacher are fleeing in droves due to fear for their safety or simply burnout from administration who are unwilling or unable to to hear and heal them. The problems begin from the top down.
The contract of Dr. Brenda G. Wynder is before the board for renewal. The board is supposed to be tasked with evaluating the performance of the superintendent prior to voting on a new 5 year contract. Our schools have not improved in the two years since Dr. Wynder joined our district. This is not to speak negatively about her character, but to say that since she was hired we had a very chaotic year dealing with Covid and reentering the schools, violence on the rise, classes in almost every school without dedicated teachers, and a serious lack of communication with parents and communities regarding serious safety issues. Guns are now present in classrooms. It is only a matter of time before we have a fatality in a school.
We are asking that you sign this petition that will be presented to the board prior to the vote on the new contract. If you are a student, a parent, a relative, a teacher, a staff member, a community member, we need your voice. The school board is made up of elected officials, meaning they represent us. So far, they have ignored our outcry. Perhaps because they have only heard from a few of us. Now is the time to say NO to 5 more years!
