SiriusXM, the large satellite radio network, has signed a multi-year contract with "Dr." Laura Schlessinger. Schlessinger was forced to end her current show at the end of this year after a rant filled with repeated use of the N-word.  This summer wasn't the first time Schlessinger has used hate speech. Previously on air she has called gays and lesbians "biological errors" and "deviants." On a television appearance she said it was women who were responsible when their husbands had affairs.

Not enough? "Dr." Laura misleads her audience into believing that she holds a degree relevant to her advice and guidance on the air. With a Ph.D. in physiology, she is not professionally educated to serve as a counselor or advisor in any way.

Activists have stopped "Dr." Laura before. In 2000 a successful campaign against Paramount Television resulted in the cancellation of her show before it hit the airwaves.  That campaign proved media giants can be pressured to respond.

Take Action and sign this petition to the CEO of SiriusXM Radio, Mel Karmazin. Tell SiriusXM that while you support diversity in their programming, giving a platform to hate speech is unacceptable, no matter what the venue.
