Tell Rep Sandstrom: Don't Shock Children!
The Issue
In the January 7, 2010 issue of Salt Lake Tribune titled:"Sandstrom plans to exempt school officers from bill"
It says: " At the urging of education leaders, Rep. Stephen Sandstrom has revised his proposed immigration bill to exempt school resource officers from having to check whether students and their families are in the country illegally."

Tell Rep Sandstrom that the same child whose family is stopped by a law enforcement officer checking immigration status on the freeway is the same child protected by the Bill on school grounds Tell him that if he can exempt the officer from the Bill while the child is on school grounds, he can also exempt the officer while the child is not on school grounds.
The article goes on further to say that the bill was found to address the sensitive needs of children on school grounds:Yes, but only in part because the bill does not address the sensitive needs of the same child out of school while parents are being 'checked" by law enforcement.
