Prince’s proposed mansion violates the Land Management Code and Historic District Design Guidelines including (but not limited to!):

• Excessive mass and scale
• Massively oversize footprint
• Excessive building height and internal height
• Failure to minimize cuts and retaining walls 

Park City spent $64 million to preserve Treasure Hill and prevent the construction of massive buildings above Old Town. Prince’s proposed construction on 220 King Road of a massive mansion wider than City Hall will disrupt the charm and historic character of Old Town that we have worked so hard to preserve.

The proposed excavation endangers the lives and property of all below.   Prince plans to make two cuts totaling over 80 vertical feet in a very steep slope above the heart of Old Town.  This same mountainside had a landslide from a mere 15’ cut near Park City Mountain.  This video shows the potential consequences of the proposed excavation: https://youtu.be/4pEqh7PUHzs

If catastrophe occurs will Prince have any personal liability? NO!!!!

Prince's contractor Edge Homes has had previous hillside homes collapse."Edge Homes, the home builder, wrote in a statement released Monday that “despite all the engineering and quality control efforts,” the retaining wall and hillside slope “experienced a complete failure.” https://www.sltrib.com/news/2023/04/24/complete-failure-retaining-wall/

If one person gets to break or bend or rewrite the rules who's to stop someone else from doing the same?!?! Lets play by the rules and follow Land Management Code and Historic District Design Guidelines. Stop Matthew Prince from setting a precedent that canot be reversed!
