Dear Park City community & supporters of our community, 

Please add your name to this petition if you oppose any of the following actions of Matthew Prince: 

1. Targeting Park City dogs by means of a lawsuit that seeks to restrict where local dogs Sasha and Mocha can walk (see https://www.kpcw.org/park-city/2024-03-20/tech-billionaire-prince-sues-park-city-neighbors-over-menacing-dogs-amid-home-battle ). Anyone who appreciates the dog-friendly nature of our town should be concerned by this. The lawsuit argues that since “dogs are not pedestrians”, they should not be allowed on pedestrian easements. By that line of reasoning, what other easements and pedestrian areas would dogs be restricted from?

2. Installing surveillance cameras that point at a public trail, as shown in the photos in this article: https://www.kpcw.org/park-city/2024-04-05/park-city-billionaire-files-second-lawsuit-against-neighbors 

Public trail users don’t need to be surveilled by Matthew Prince, and likely don’t appreciate it. 

3. Alleging that local dogs Sasha and Mocha are “vicious” and “aggressive”. Those who have met these dogs know this allegation is absurd. They are sweet, gentle dogs.

4. Employing questionable tactics, such as slipping a provision into an affordable housing bill, to push through Prince’s home constructions plans, as described in this article: https://www.sltrib.com/news/politics/2024/02/14/will-utahs-richest-man-get-ok/ 

5. Installing an editor (Don Rogers) of the Park Record that has undue financial incentive to publish stories biased towards Prince. (Don Rogers is living rent-free in one of Prince’s properties, per https://www.bloomberg.com./news/articles/2024-04-17/cloudflare-billionaire-matthew-prince-fights-utah-locals-over-house-dogs-wall .) Don Rogers has personally written several one-sided articles in the Park Record that demonstrate his bias towards Prince. Unfortunately, this has led many of us locals to feel that the Park Record is no longer a reputable news source.

If you think Matthew Prince is using dogs as pawns to get his way, please help send this message that the public objects to this conduct. 

PS: The author of this petition is not affiliated with Eric and Susan Hermann in any way, aside from occasionally running into Sasha, Mocha, and Eric out on the trails. I was motivated to start this petition because I’m a concerned Park City resident and dog lover.
