Dr. Fauci is considered by many to be “America’s doctor.” But when it comes to taxpayer-funded animal experimentation, he’s out of step with modern science, and the majority of Americans who oppose animal testing.

According to documents obtained by White Coat Waste Project using the Freedom of Information Act, Dr. Fauci’s division at the National Institutes of Health wasted over $424,000 giving 28 healthy beagles an experimental drug, then letting them be bitten, over and over again, by disease-carrying flies.

Records show that the beagles were “vocalizing in pain”… and at the end of the ongoing experiment, the dogs will all be killed.

The Food and Drug Administration says it doesn’t require dog tests for human drugs. The drug in question has already undergone extensive testing. There’s no excuse for Fauci to waste more than $400,000 of your tax dollars on abusing dogs.

Sadly, that’s not the only wasteful, cruel, and unnecessary test on beagles that Dr. Fauci approved. There have been so many, we’ve had to come up with a name for all of them:

We call it #BeagleGate.

White Coat Waste also discovered that Dr. Fauci’s NIH division shipped part of a $375,800 grant to a lab in Tunisia, where the NIH has no oversight, and there are no laws protecting animals used in experiments. Beagles were drugged and locked in enclosures filled with hundreds of infected sand flies. The experimenters starved the flies so they were hungry…and then, to quote the records we obtained: “the sand flies were then allowed to feed on the sedated dogs.”

And if that still wasn’t bad enough, his department spent $1.68 million to poison puppies.

They even paid experimenters to cut the puppies’ vocal cords — just so they wouldn’t have to hear them cry.

These were puppies. They weren’t even a year old.

They spent their first birthday in a lab. They didn’t live to see their second.

Enough is enough. This is not okay.
