Tell Members of Parliament to Protect Your Right To Resell Tickets

The Issue

It is time to stand up for your rights as a ticket holder!

Whether you buy tickets regularly or just occasionally for sports events or concerts to see your favorite artist perform or team play, all fans can agree that once they purchase tickets, they should have the right to decide what to do with them.

Unfortunately for fans, event organisers are trying to restrict fans’ rights to resell their tickets freely.  Masked as an amendment to the Consumer Protection Bill, event organisers are lobbying hard to make it easier to cancel and void our tickets if we choose to resell our tickets on a website that they aren’t  in business with.

They want ticket sellers to provide their name, row, seat number, booking reference number, and in some cases address.  Event organisers then use this information to cancel or electronically void tickets and blacklist fans to stop them getting hold of tickets in future. In addition, event organisers never offer refunds for spare tickets unless an event is cancelled.  That’s not consumer protection, that’s trying to eliminate fair competition and establish a monopoly.

Sign our petition below to let MPs know you support ticket holder rights over monopolies!
