The Issue

Citi Bike quietly lowered its e-bike assist cap from 18 mph to 15 mph. Because rides are billed per minute, a fixed-distance trip now takes more minutes, making the same ride up to 20% more expensive with no change in the advertised rate. Riders are paying more and were never told.

We're asking Lyft to either cut the per-minute e-bike rate to match the slower speed cap or restore the 18 mph cap, and to publish clear trip-time and cost data so riders know what they're actually paying.

This petition is addressed to Lyft and the NYC Department of Transportation. If you ride Citi Bike, add your name.
