In 2011 the Florida Legislature changed our urban development laws and regulations returning the majority of these decisions to Local and City Governments. (House Bill 7207). LeeTran last prepared a 10-Year Transit Development Plan in 2012 as an Ammendment to our 2006 TDP. The 10-Year TDP that LeeTran has prepared for Lee County this year has us headed in the wrong direction. It ignores whole communities like Lehigh Acres and does not address the Transit needs of over 16,500 low and minimum wage employee's of some of Lee County's largest employers. It provides no self-evaluation or external analysis of the 2006 or 2012 TDP. For these reasons we ask all of Lee County to stand with us and demand that the Lee County Commissioners VOTE NO on LeeTrans 2016 10-Year TDP until it addresses these concerns and omissions.
