Tell Lagoon Amusement Park to Replace Animal Exhibit!
The animals under the care of the Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington, Utah, look sickly and unhealthy. There are plenty of options available for park visitors, including rides and games, without having to imprison animals for the sake of human entertainment.
Lagoon Corporation has failed to meet minimal federal standards for the care of animals used in exhibitions as established in the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has cited Lagoon Corporation numerous times for failure to provide veterinary care to sick and dying animals, filthy enclosures, inadequately trained employees, and failure to provide animals with adequate space. Lagoon has had a high death rate and several unexplained deaths. Click here to view USDA reports on the company's Animal Welfare Act violations.
The Lagoon Amusement Park's privatized zoo, which has 65 to 80 animals, including many exotic animals, is part of the park's Wild Kingdom attraction, which features a train ride that takes guests past the zoo exhibits. Many park patrons have stated that they had no idea that the zoo even existed, as they never rode on the train. Others who have visited the Wild Kingdom attraction have stated that they did so just to ride the train, not to see the animals. Animals at the Lagoon Amusement Park's zoo are exposed to children throwing rocks and trash from the train and to the screams and other noises coming from the park's attractions. Click here to see a list of the horrific living conditions that these animals endure.
Please write to the Lagoon Corporation and ask them to release the animals at the Lagoon Amusement Park, who are enduring horrific living conditions, to sanctuaries today.

I was saddened to learn about the animals who are being kept at the Lagoon amusement park. As part of the Wild Kingdom Train Zoo exhibit, they are exposed to the loud atmosphere of the park and have rocks and trash thrown at them by children on the train. I encourage you to release these animals to a reputable sanctuary and replace the zoo with an animal-free exhibit for the train.
Please use your influence to ensure that these animals are swiftly moved to an accredited sanctuary, where they can live out the rest of their lives in peace.
