The Issue

BUILD IT RIGHT!
The town of Ipswich needs a new building for our public safety services and our first responders. But the people chosen to represent the residents of Ipswich are not listening!

WHAT IPSWICH RESIDENTS NEED TO KNOW:

  • The property is on a scenic road that is supposed to have no commercial development.
  • The Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Conservation Committee are under pressure to finish the project and ignoring Ipswich’s permitting rules to get this building pushed through without public comment and input.
  • The property is environmentally sensitive; containing and abutting wetlands.
  • The building design is not big enough to house the services promised when the town was convinced to purchase the property and there is no room for expansion.
  • Ipswich hasn’t even conducted a traffic study to determine the impact on Linebrook, Ipswich High School, the church, Pineswamp, and nearby residents’ homes
  • Other towns like Andover, Rowley, and Essex have built public safety buildings that are functional and represent their community's architecture.

OUTREACH AND FOLLOW-UP:

  • The Ipswich residents advocating for a better public safety building feel strongly that in addition to the Change.org petition, presenting physical signatures to elected boards will add significant weight to our cause. If you would like to add your physical signature please reach call or text 978-314-9277 or 978-387-4910 and we will bring the petition to you.
