This is not only an issue about saving trees but also a ball field safety issue with the proposed site being so close to the current playground and picnic area. The Park Board carried a motion forward to take a "second look" at saving the trees at the next City Council meeting but the future of the trees remains very doubtful, even with the over 1,000 handwritten and electronic signatures that have signed the petition.
