Tell Bozeman to Stop Gentrification and Protect Our Natural Resources
Bozeman, Montana is town 1 hour from Yellowstone. It boasts the most fertile farmland in the US, 2 top notch ski hills, and is in the path of the Northern Rockies elk migration. In 1990, Bozeman was ranked by Outside magazine as a top 5 recreational city, and its growth began to boom.
Over the years, it has hit one top ten list or another, spurring growth and creating smog, loss of our dark sky, interruption of the elk migration, violence, drugs, sex trafficking, road rage, abuse of our Forrests, disrespect for our culture. As Food production becomes more encroached, farmers and ranchers are being driven out and developers are rushing to create million dollar apartments, effectively creating gentrification of the community. With rents exceeding those of NYC, Seattle and California, locals and labor force are being driven out as well as the wildlife and the food producers. Meanwhile, wells are running dry as tens of thousands of homes, with ponds, extensive non native landscaping, and radiant heated driveways are overwhelming our most precious resource, water. Rivers are running dry, impacting our fish, farmers, ranchers and solidarity seekers.
Tell Gallatin County we do not want to become another Denver! The world deserves to have a Bozeman! Save our community, our environment, our wildlife and our resources! Stop this reckless push for development!
