Attending Fan Expo Canada has always been a cherished tradition for myself, and so many other fans across Toronto, the GTA, and Canada. However, every year, the safety of the fans has come into question as Fan Expo continues to sell tickets when it is already too dangerous to move around the convention spaces including Artist Alley, the entrances and exits, Exhibitions Halls, the food court, and the vendors, etc. This has been a problem since 2005, but Fan Expo has not addressed the recent complaints about overcrowding, and it is clear that the problem was never solved.

The most telling example of the overselling this year is the clear, heightened attendance on Thursday and Friday, followed by the announcements that they are selling 3pm and 4pm Saturday tickets after proclaiming that All Day Passes for Saturday have completely sold out. This is a blatant example of greed, and using any chance possible to cram as many people as they can into the convention to make money. It is dangerous, a hazard, and needs to be addressed and limited by Fan Expo Canada.

A majority of fans this year have;

• Stood in a large crowd of people to get in line for the one working escalator in either direction
• Pushed and shoved through the crowds of fans to move forward a few metres
• Been forced to a standstill with other fans, shoulder to shoulder, in artist alley and vendor hall
• Experienced the incredibly long lines to retrieve badges and enter the convention

As a fan, I want to love Fan Expo Canada, but it is hard to do when I can't move through the aisles, see people with accessibility needs get disregarded due to the crowd, experience the frequency of escalator shutdowns. This isn't an event for the fans, this is just for money and it is sickening.

Tell Fan Expo Canada to address the concerns the fans are raising for 2026's convention, and stop overselling tickets for future events. There needs to be a limit on how many people can enter.
