NOV 22, 2016 — CITY PARK FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS(CPFAN) PRESENTS YOUR PETITION WITH 2800+ SIGNATURES, (SO FAR), TO MAYOR HANCOCK On 11/19, at a jam packed meeting at the Mayor's Cabinet in the Community, Louis Plachowski and John Van Sciver, Board Members of the park/neighborhood advocacy group CPFAN.org, rolled out a 100+Ft. long scroll for Mayor Hancock's consideration.The petitioners asked the mayor not to destroy historic City Park Golf Course and not to threaten neighborhoods with exposure to toxic pollution from the I 70/Vasquez Superfund site… to install a massive, 1965-style drainage system. The system, named Platte to Park Hill, is designed to save the controversial, and as yet unapproved , Highway I-70 expansion and the Wester Stock Show, from the effects man made floods. Instead petitioners would like the Mayor to spend or money to install a progressive, green rain water conservation system that would protect all of Denver's neighborhoods.
