Denver has invited all to "drop in" tonight to give them feed back on their design for City Park Golf Course. All 1700+ of you who signed this petition have spoken: Preserve historic CPGC,it's invaluable urban forest and soil, newer club house, youth programs and open space that act as the best rain water storage in the world and provides a peaceful, calm place in nature for all to enjoy. We will present the city with a 50 foot long scroll of the petition! CPFAN's community of concern includes the well being of the people who live in the neighborhoods that surround the park. Denver's drainage plan includes additional phases for Cole and Globeville neighborhoods that would expose residents to health and safety risks. For example, 39th Avenue where the city proposes to dig a mile long 100 feet wide open drainage ditch , is over an un remediated( not cleaned up) Superfund site potentially full of dangerous industrial waste and by products. Has the city really reached out and educated residents about these dangers? Globeville is the same story and, we hear, that it will be put back into the flood plain if the drainage plan moves forward. Residents of Swansea and Elyria could also be negatively impacted by this and by the proposed expansion of heavily polluting Highway I 70 .
