The Issue

Dallas families need real investment in housing — not just promises.

The City of Dallas is finalizing its HUD Consolidated Plan Budget for 2025–26. This budget decides how millions in federal housing and development funds will be spent. But this year, even with urgent needs across the city, funding for key housing repair and development programs is being reduced.

Programs like the Home Improvement and Preservation Program (HIPP) and the Residential Development Acquisition Loan Program help keep longtime residents in their homes and support affordable housing development. These are the programs that prevent displacement, stabilize neighborhoods, and keep housing within reach for working families.

Yet these vital services are facing cuts, even as housing costs rise and income inequality deepens. We cannot let this happen without speaking up.

Sign this petition to tell Dallas leaders: Fully fund housing repair and development programs like HIPP, protect affordable housing, and make sure every family has the chance to stay in their community.
