Craigslist has become a breeding ground for backyard breeders to sell their litters without any regulation or consequence. By using “rehome” or “rehoming” they circumvent the loose regulations and mislead the public. Our country’s shelters are inundated with unwanted pets like never before. The ease of access to these animals on Craigslist and financial gain of these backyard breeders has no doubt played a significant role in contributing to the overpopulation in shelters. Animals no longer convenient to the owners’ lifestyle, abused and used breeder dogs, byproduct puppies who won’t bring a profit, and so much more. Please help us tell Craigslist to regulate their Community>Pets section and animals for sale. We demand oversight and removal of posts that violate Craigslist’s policy and support the innumerable pets being callously dumped at shelters.
