Hello NRA boycotters,
Sorry for not being in touch for a long time. Since the last time I posted an update, two more major firms have now cut ties with the NRA – Lloyd’s of London and (finally!) Fedex. The Member Benefits page on the NRA website is now a shadow of its former self and no major companies currently supporting it. Yay!
I have some other ideas for hitting the NRA in its pocketbook, stay tuned. But in the meantime, I’m also working on another boycott, that of Fox News advertisers, and have started a Change.org petition asking the network’s biggest advertisers to pull their ads. Also have prepared a spreadsheet with detailed contact information for them.
I had made a spreadsheet of Laura Ingraham’s advertisers after she bullied Parkland survivor David Hogg on air, and later with a spreadsheet of Tucker Carlson’s advertisers after his repeated racist statements. The more I have learned about Fox News the more concerned I have became about the hate and conspiracy theories it peddles. The massacre at the synagogue in Pittsburgh, the scare tactics around the migrant caravan, and the midterm results contributed to make me even more concerned about the deleterious effects of Fox’s programming.
I’m in full agreement with the Financial Times’ U.S. national editor that “The most effective thing Americans can do is boycott companies that advertise on Fox.” If you agree, please sign the petition to Fox advertisers, and let them know what you think about their support for one of the most negative influences in American society.
