Tomorrow, there will be a 24 hour boycott against FedEx, Amazon and Apple (called by Alyssa Milano and other influencers). Fedex due to its refusal to stop its NRA discount program, and Amazon and Apple for streaming NRATV. The motto is "don't shop, don't stream, don't ship." I would suggest that you shouldn't only do this for just one day; the company I work for is switching from FedEx to UPS. FedEx claims that it is keeping its NRA discount program so as not to discriminate (which doesn't really make sense) but ThinkProgress discovered a likely reason they want to be nice to the NRA -- they have been angling to get increased business shipping guns. And here is an update on other companies: * Reliastar severed its ties with the NRA * Viness Wines has removed some NRA wines from its site, and is evaluating its NRA wine club * NetSpend says that it's reviewing its NRA relationship * HotelPlanner has said that it will keep its relationship with the NRA, continuing to offer a discount hotel booking service through the NRA's 5-Star Member Benefits program. It remains to be seen whether HotelPlanner partners like InterContinental, Hilton, Starwood, Best Western and Hyatt will want to continue letting HotelPlanner offer their hotels through its NRA-branded portal. In other news, Dick's Sporting Goods announced today that it was ending sales of all assault-style rifles and high capacity magazines in its stores, and would not sell guns to buyers under 21. Walmart announced that it would also set 21 as the age limit to buy guns, and that it would no longer sell items resembling assault-style rifles. They are to be commended. All eyes are on Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas to see if they will follow suit. Thanks everyone for continuing to contact companies and keep up the pressure!
