Clark County School District has not asked a single educator's opinion regarding reopening.

Article 32-1 in the CCEA negotiated agreement states: A teacher will not be required to perform any duty or act which threatens the teacher’s or student’s physical safety or well-being except normal risks involved in carrying out teaching duties.

A pandemic is NOT a normal risk.

CCSD has no effective safety plan in place for students or teachers. Poor ventilation in many of our schools amplifies the spread of germs. There is no plan for PPE, there is no hazard pay, and any COVID-related absences are not covered by the district. There are no required temperature checks of students. This is not a plan, it is a death sentence.

The Board of Trustees does not even meet in person, so they cannot tell educators that they must return to unsafe working conditions.
