Why I'm Fighting for a World Without Forever Chemicals

I just crossed the 8-year mark since I started building Caraway Home.

It landed right around Father’s Day, which made me reflect on how much my reason for building this company has changed.

In 2018, I was 26 with no kids, living in a seventh-floor walk-up in NYC, trying to find my way after getting laid off from a job I loved.

The truth is, I started Caraway as a career opportunity because I was hard to employ and terrible at working for others.

I thought I’d be working on Caraway for five years max, and my goal was simple: build something successful enough that I’d never have to work for someone else again.

Then I became a father.

I have a 2.5-year-old son and an 8-month-old daughter who are my world. Having kids changes what you notice.

What they touch. What they eat from. What they breathe in. What they put in their mouths.

You start seeing how many “normal” things around them are only normal because previous generations were never given a better choice.

Our parents didn’t get to choose a world without forever chemicals. But we can, for our kids.

That is what Caraway has become for me. It’s not just about building a company anymore, it’s about the world my kids grow up in.

Eight years ago, I started Caraway as a career opportunity.

Today, I am building it for my kids, and for every family who deserves something better.

And when two of the largest cookware conglomerates in the world try to stand in the way of that, the answer is simple. We fight. I want my kids to be proud of what I built. But more than that, I want them to know I stood up for their future when it mattered.

Thanks for being one of the 55K people to sign our petition.

I urge you to share it with your friends and family too.
