To their permanent shame, Ballet BC and the CanaDanse Festival in Israel have come and gone. We call on all of our supporters, who were as outraged as we were that this event happened, to let Ballet BC know that we will not forget this travesty. Four months ago, early in this campaign, one of our supporters said on this petition: "But if Ballet BC performs in apartheid, violently oppressive Israel - it will forever stain your reputation and I will not be able to enjoy another BC Ballet performance." Another supporter noted that if Ballet BC went ahead with their performance: "You will lose much of your following if you do. Please reconsider."
Ballet BC is on tour in Canada from March 15-30th, in Victoria, Ottawa, Halifax and Toronto. They claimed they "serve as ambassadors for British Columbia and Canada." If they are coming to your city, please do not reward their crass promotion of "Brand Israel"; boycott their performances and also let them know that they are not your ambassador when they dance with apartheid!
