Petition updateKeep Our Park 5G Free (Sunset Park, Tampa)Cities Restrict How Close 5G Tower Can Be From Homes, Schools and Daycares

Back in 2017, Florida lawmakers passed a bill giving telecom companies access to most public-right-of-way property to install 5G towers. Telecom companies can install these new towers on public property every 500ft, including in front of homes, daycares and schools.

These companies used to pay cities several thousand dollars for access to land in front of your home, however, state lawmakers also capped the fee around $150 per installation.

When ATT installed a new 5G tower at the entrance of a new neighborhood park at 2711 North Dundee Street in Tampa, the telecom giant did not even have to legally alert the neighborhood.

The metal eyesore seemingly appeared overnight.

When when tower goes up, competitors also want access to the same area, creating a 5G garden tower in neighborhoods.

This is why we need more neighborhood advocates to speak out and fight with us to gain back influence over where these towers go up.

People in other cities have made a difference. They've found ways to limit how close these towers can be near schools, daycares and homes.

A new 5G cell tower eyesore does NOT belong in a children's nature park in a residential area.
