Tell AT&T and Verizon that you do NOT support their values !
Does your purchasing power of goods and services reflect your own personal values?
I was surprised to learn the following information, and I would like to share it with you.
Consumers can make a significant difference in the world through their spending power on every day goods and services.
For example, do you know that the corporate values of AT&T support Bush-era policies? In fact, interestingly enough AT&T was a two-time MAXIMUM donor to the Bush/Cheney campaign. Likewise, Verizon gives money to pro-war candidates, and has even blocked TEXT messages from NARAL Pro Choice America.
Credo Mobile believes that your cell phone should support the values you believe in — not work against them. That's why they have dedicated themselves to furthering progressive causes by donating a portion of your bill to progressive nonprofit groups fighting for social justice, equality, civil rights and a clean environment.
Unlike AT&T and Verizon, Credo Mobile is fighting to end the war. They were opposed to the war before it even began, and they have donated money to anti-war groups.
Unlike AT&T and Verizon, Credo Mobile is working to stop new coal-fired power plants and promote renewable energy. They have donated over 10 million dollars to groups committed to solving our climate crisis, including Greenpeace, the Sierra Club, and Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection.
Unlike AT&T and Verizon, Credo Mobile is working to protect a woman’s right to choose. Credo Mobile is, in fact, the largest corporate donor to Planned Parenthood.
Unlike AT&T and Verizon, Credo Mobile is fighting to reform political campaign financing and influence. They are longtime advocates of H.R. 646, Rep. John Conyers’ (D-MI) single payer bill, and they are mobilizing members to demand a public option. They also fund health care non-profits like Physicians for a National Health System.
And unlike AT&T and Verizon, Credo Mobile is protecting freedom of speech. Credo donates to the First Amendment heroes like the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Democracy Now.
It is imperative that we are mindful of the choices that we make as consumers. As illustrated above, our simple (and often selfish) decisions can have negative consequences which, in turn, reverberate throughout our society, nation and world.
Tell AT&T (Customer Service, 1-800-331-0500 or 611 from your wireless phone) and Verizon http://www22.verizon.com/residential/support/contactus that you do NOT support their values.
