Mr Albanese, it’s time to stop discrimination against LGBTIQA+ people in religious schools, hospitals and other services. 

This has been outlawed in several states and territories, but is still allowed in national law. 

Parents who send their child to a religious school or who is cared for in a religious hospital don’t want to see their child discriminated against.

Our children deserve to be treated equally in all parts of society and should not fear legalised discrimination.

“Religious freedom” is not a reason to allow discrimination. Taxpayers fund religious schools, hospitals and services to provide the best education and health care, not to impose outdated religious views.

A Galaxy Poll conducted by PFLAG revealed that 68% of voters, including half of conservative Christians, did not support this proposed legislation. This clearly shows that there is significant opposition to such discriminatory practices within our society
