Tell Anniston City Council to put Kent Davis on the Interview List for City Manager

The Issue

Anniston deserves a qualified city manager who can step into the role and lead effectively from day one.

In recent years, the City Council has attempted to recruit candidates for this position, yet the city continues to struggle to find stable, proven leadership. Anniston already has a candidate with the experience, leadership, and proven track record needed to move the city forward — Admiral Kent Davis.

During his time serving Anniston as City Manager and Economic Development Director, Admiral Davis demonstrated the ability to lead, build relationships, and focus on meaningful progress for the community. In a relatively short period of time, he made a measurable impact and earned the respect of many citizens who saw firsthand what strong leadership could accomplish.

Bringing Admiral Davis back would not only provide experienced leadership but would also allow him to continue and help bring to completion several initiatives he helped start from the beginning. His familiarity with these projects and with the city’s priorities would allow him to move forward immediately without a learning curve.

Now is the time for the City Council to seriously consider bringing that leadership back.

We respectfully urge the City Council to interview and give full consideration to Admiral Davis for the position of City Manager. His experience across a multitude of government and civilian sectors, his dedication to public service, and commitment to Anniston make him a strong candidate to help guide the city forward.

Please sign below to show your support for Kent Davis and for strong, effective leadership for the City of Anniston. We can confirm that Admiral Davis intends to apply for the position for a third time and would welcome the opportunity to return and serve the City of Anniston in this role.
