The Eastern Road, on the Island of New Providence Bahamas, is as old as the Bahamas itself, having provided land based quarters for the famous, or infamous, Pirate, Edward Teach aka Blackbeard circa 1680 - 1718. Some 300 years ago. Eastern Road is also famous for Samuel Fox, an Enslaved African, who was freed and granted 23.5 acres of land at Creek Village in 1801. Creek Village is a mere stone's throw away from Blackbeards Tower on Eastern Road.  By an act of Parliament known as the TOWN PLANNING ZONING ORDER, 1988 - the entire Eastern Rd from the Knowle to East End was designated reserved for "dwelling houses" and residential. 

But in September of 2016, AML Foods Ltd, under its Brand of Solomon's began a decimation of the Eastern Road, such as had not been seen in three hundred years. Notwithstanding the grand highways built at huge cost to the taxpayers, to accomodate the heavy container trailers that are the order of business today, the deliveries to Solomon's, carried at breakneck speed, along the Eastern Road where every home has its driveway on the road itself, and where joggers jog and walkers walk in an erstwhile tranquil setting. Danger abounds as trailers barrel along at 50 to 60 miles per hour in a 20 mile per hour zone laying waste to the beautiful foliage that overhangs the road from the gardens along the way. 

Does the driver care - HELL NO ! Does AML FOODS care - HELL NO. Does AML Foods Directors care - HELL NO.  The drivers don't care because they can save a couple of dollars on the shorter route, AML Foods doesn't care because it can pay the trucker a little less money to bring the container, and the Directors don't care because they can create more profit for their ever greedy shareholders. 

So, as they say in Jamaica - Money Makes the Mare Gallop and AML Foods is Galloping all the way to the Bank !!!  At Eastern Roads Expense.

Shame on AML Foods - Shame on its Directors - AND Shame on its Shareholders.
