Hello everyone,

I started this petition because of the annoying ads sending by Sri Lankan mobile network providers.

Normal ads are OK. They are everywhere on the Internet, TV and news papers etc.
But these ads... These ads are taking money from every people. They don't care that you are a poor person, regular one or rich one. Also these ads are coming like popup SMS or popup ads on the Internet. If we click OK or something without properly reading it, it will automatically subscribe you to some features and charge you daily or monthly subscription fee.

Nowadays every person has a normal mobile phone or a smart phone. Whether they have normal or smart phones these companies send ads. But the thing is most of the people in Sri Lanka doesn't understand English properly and many normal people only know how to take and answer calls. So if they receive a popup SMS or ad they just click Yes or OK. Then without knowing they will automatically adding some features to them with subscription fees. They will only notice that when they apply recharge cards or reload their phone after while. Sometime it take months them to notice that their money is diapering without knowing of them.

I'm a tech guy and many people in my village come to me for their mobile phone and PC problems. Most of them have this subscriptions activated without knowing them. They come to me and tell me when they reload their phone the exact amount is not their and everyday their money is dessapier. The problem is they activated some features without knowing by popup SMS and ads. Only thing I can do is call customer care and wait about 30 mins and tell them to stop this. But it's not a permanent solution. They are sending ads later and poor people activating it also again.

Don't you think this has to be stopped? Becasue we pay them their fees and tax for the government for our calls, SMS and Internet. So WE HAVE A RIGHT to demand them to stop this crap.

If you encountered this to you or your friend you know how irritating is this. So please help make this ad thing to STOP.

I think if we can take this to the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) we can hope for a solution...!!!
