Unsolicited Business promotion calls and SMS are not allowed by law unless the subscriber agrees to receive such promotions. However, despite informing your telecom operator, despite reporting violations to them, and blocking erring numbers, unsolicited calls and SMS continue to cause mental agony to subscribers. Receiving 2-4 calls everyday is not unusual and excruciatingly harassing. TRAI and Ministry of Communication, need to be more effective in containing the menace. Deterrent punitive action needs to be taken by them to let the citizens of India live with peace of mind.
