Invasion of Privacy in Social Media: Must Stop Now!

Invasion of Privacy in Social Media: Must Stop Now!
The Issue
Invasion of Privacy is very common nowadays, not only in real life situations, but also in social media since technology is very evident in this century which makes it easier for people to get that information in just a snap.
Based on Business Dictionary, “Invasion of Privacy” is the offensive or unjustifiable access obtained to someone's personality or personal affairs without his or her permission and/or knowledge.
This problem is very common here in the Philippines. Just like in the government, wherein people or commoners go in the deep just to track people’s lives in social media without that certain person’s permission and prove their suspicions right. Some news is very much related to this.
Another is in schools, where in administrators or other personals go through the student’s account such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and look for things that just to prove that that person is guilty for something that is done already in the past. Examples are bikini pictures that are posted online, which are in fact used in the beaches then these pictures are taken without the consent of the owner, and send as a complaint to the principal or administrator which will end up for that person to attend some formative activity, just because his or her privacy is invaded by some person.
We address this issue because it is one of the reasons why a person or a student goes against the rules or becomes a rebel because s/he doesn't have the right to post whatever s/he wanted to. S/he cannot express his/her opinions in social medias and cannot share the memories s/he has. This issue is getting bigger especially in schools. Others ask the question:
"What can s/he get if s/he took a screenshot of a post, print it and give it to the Administrators?"
This norm has to stop. One of the solutions is 3-day suspension or impeachment in the position and there should be investigation if the person was innocent of the offense.
In the part of the Victim and to avoid this kind of situation, avoid sharing too much information about yourself especially in social media and try to keep things in private. Since it said,
"If it is in the internet, then it is not private."
So help us raise awareness and change Invasion of Privacy to Protection of Privacy in Social Media!
