Netflix, as a popular streaming service, is a great platform for filmmakers and passionate advocates to showcase their documentaries to a broad and varied audience. Netflix has refused to host The Food Evolution Movie, narrated by Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and have not given a reason for doing so. See the trailer below:

Every business has the right to operate in whatever way it seems fit therefore they have every right to refuse an offer from anyone or any organisation. However, the nature of current agriculture and where our food comes from is a hot topic. The Food Evolution Movie would definitely draw enough of an audience to justify its acquisition especially since its narrator is Neil DeGrasse Tyson. The renowned astrophysicist and science educator has already narrated 'Cosmos' a popular documentary that Netflix is currently hosting. So why would Netflix refuse to host The Food Evolution Movie?

This feels more like Netflix has chosen a side in the great debate, rather than acting as a bipartisan body that simply accommodates for both parties to express their views. This is all the more plausible given that Netflix is currently hosting the documentary 'What the Health?', which expresses opinions possibly contrary to that which the Food Evolution Movie would have.

This is not about pushing an agenda, this is about allowing both parties to express their views on the same platform. Both pro and anti-GMO advocates should want this documentary hosted on Netflix so as to allow a balance of opinions.

Please sign this petition and encourage Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer of Netflix, to reconsider their decision to host The Food Evolution Movie on Netflix.
