My son's name is Matthew Waagmeester and he is member of the United States Army National Guard.  He enlisted as a junior in high school and will be graduating in May of 2023.   It is his wish to wear his dress uniform for graduation however the school he attends, Tea Area High School in Tea SD is saying no.  Not only did the school say no they insinuated the reason for the request was due to financial issues. We are currently in the process of appealing their decision, We think they should be supporting him instead of saying " well if we make exceptions for you then what about the boy scouts"  He is a member of the United States Military, He has given sworn oath to defend his country. I think he has earned the right to wear his dress uniform for his high school graduation.
