Keep TCNJ Class of 2020's Graduation

For all individuals globally, COVID-19 is causing life changing impacts. Locally within our TCNJ community we have seen a transition to remote learning as the University makes steps towards safety guided by top government officials. In this transition the class of 2020 fears that our graduation will be cancelled entirely along with our spring semester.

On behalf of TCNJ Class of 2020, I plead that our ceremony does not get canceled. TCNJ prides itself on being a tight knit community and within this we have an even tighter knit community amongst our graduating class. Amongst all of the other university related events being potentially cancelled including concerts, formals, senior nights, etc., graduation cannot be one of them. This graduating class has committed 4 or more years of blood, sweat, and tears to get their education and walk across the stage to make themselves and their loved ones proud. This school and senior class has experienced tragedy in the past, and has seen the community come together in support. We hope that in these trying times we can come together as a community, like we always have, and consider salvaging a celebration that so many contributors have made happen including our parents, siblings, family members, friends, educators and mentors.

We ask for consideration of the hard work our class has put together and request our graduation ceremony continues as is or gets postponed to a future date! As uncertainty of the future grows and the outbreak continues to reach more individuals, we must find solace in our TCNJ family in order to keep hope and spirits high. Go Lions!
