It’s Time to Transform Taunton’s Bus Network

For too long, we’ve accepted that buses are simply something that happens to us, rather than something that should work for us.

A good bus network isn’t just about getting from A to B. It’s about giving people the freedom to reach work, college, the hospital, the shops and the many attractions that make Taunton and Somerset such wonderful places to visit. It supports local businesses, reduces congestion and ensures everyone—young and old—can travel with confidence.

We’ve already shown that positive change is possible. By working with local communities, Somerset Council and bus operators, we’ve helped secure improvements to services and better connections for residents. But there is still much more to do.

We need safer and more accessible bus stops, better shelters, improved roadside infrastructure, reliable real-time information, and a network that connects seamlessly with trains, employment, education, healthcare and leisure opportunities.

These improvements won’t happen unless people speak up.
